How to Prepare a Tamheer CV as a Saudi Graduate

Make your education, projects and developing skills easy for a host organisation to assess, then keep the CV consistent with your official application profile.

Short answer: treat Tamheer as a graduate training opportunity, not as a permanent job title or a promise of employment. Check current eligibility and the application route on the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) Graduate Development page. Then write a concise CV around the skills and evidence required by a specific host opportunity. A graduate with little paid experience can still show a relevant project, placement, coursework or volunteering accurately.

1. Separate programme eligibility from your CV

HRDF publishes the Tamheer programme description, eligibility conditions and application service. The Saudi National Platform service page also points applicants to the official route. Read those pages immediately before applying; rules, vacancies and platform steps can change. Your CV does not establish eligibility by itself. A strong document helps the host understand your fit after the programme and opportunity requirements are met.

Begin with the actual training description. Highlight the work to be learned, the skills requested, the city and any required field of study. If the opportunity asks for a certain degree or qualification, do not rewrite an unrelated credential to appear to match. If you are unsure whether you qualify, rely on HRDF’s current instructions rather than an unofficial blog or recruiter claim.

Official or host requirement What to verify CV evidence
Programme eligibility Current HRDF criteria and application status Record truthful education and experience; the official platform decides eligibility.
Host role skills The vacancy’s tasks and tools Relevant coursework, project deliverables, placements or verified skills.
Availability and location City, start date and training pattern State availability only if accurate and relevant to the vacancy.

2. Build a CV around evidence, not an empty experience section

  1. Header: use your name, a reliable contact number and professional email. Add city and a relevant profile link if it supports the application. Do not place sensitive identifiers in the CV unless the actual submission instructions require them.
  2. Targeted profile: in two or three lines, state your qualification, the kind of training sought and one or two relevant capabilities. Avoid claiming expertise you have not yet developed.
  3. Education: give institution, degree or diploma, field and completion date. Include a relevant academic distinction only if verified.
  4. Projects: select one to three projects that show the opportunity’s work. State the task, method or tool, your own contribution and the output. Label a simulated assignment as a project, not as paid client work.
  5. Experience: include internships, cooperative training, volunteering or part-time work where relevant. Make the type and duration clear; do not hide prior experience to fit a programme condition.
  6. Skills: list tools, languages and methods you can actually demonstrate. Put the most relevant items first; a long generic skills list is weaker than a short evidenced one.

Use a simple readable document with standard headings. There is no public evidence that every Tamheer host uses one ATS scoring formula or that a special template guarantees selection. Follow any file-type or field instructions displayed by the official portal or host. Check the text after uploading; a visually attractive PDF is not useful if key details appear missing or out of order.

3. Turn a student project into a credible bullet

Fictional illustration: a Riyadh accounting graduate applies to a finance operations training role.

Weak: duty without evidence

“Worked on spreadsheets and reports.”

Stronger, if true: project evidence

“Built a university cash-flow case in Excel using 12 months of fictional sales and expense data; reconciled three scenarios and presented the assumptions to a four-person project team.”

The stronger bullet shows the task, tool, scale and output while clearly remaining an academic exercise. Do not copy the numbers or claim actual employer results you did not achieve.

For an HR training role, the same applicant would select different evidence: perhaps a student survey with anonymised responses and a written analysis of onboarding needs. One master CV can hold your verified history, but the summary, project order and skills should respond to each real opportunity. That is useful targeting, not keyword stuffing.

4. Reconcile the application profile and CV

  1. Compare your degree title, graduation date and experience dates with the official profile and supporting documents.
  2. Use the same accurate names for tools and certifications across the CV and application fields.
  3. Check that a selected project genuinely supports a task in the host opportunity.
  4. Answer the portal’s questions directly instead of assuming the CV substitutes for required fields.
  5. Reopen the uploaded file or preview if the platform provides one; check text order, contact details and legibility on mobile.
  6. Keep a copy of the submitted version and the opportunity description so you can prepare for a discussion.

HRDF’s instructions govern the programme. A host organisation decides how it assesses applicants; participation in training should not be presented as a guaranteed job offer. Be cautious of anyone selling “guaranteed Tamheer acceptance” or inside knowledge of unpublished selection scores.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply without paid work experience?

The programme is designed for graduate development, but eligibility depends on HRDF’s current criteria. For the CV, show relevant academic work, placements or volunteering accurately instead of inventing employment.

Should I send the same CV to every host?

Keep the underlying facts consistent. Reorder the summary, projects and skills to match each host’s genuine training tasks, and complete its application fields separately.

Is there an official Tamheer CV format?

Use any specific file and profile instructions in the official application and host posting. Do not assume an unofficial downloadable template or ATS score is mandatory.
