Academic Integrity Editing UAE — Similarity-Aware Editing
Ethical editing of your own work — citation, paraphrasing and language review that respects your authorship and your university’s integrity policy.
A high similarity score or unclear citations can put good work at risk. Labeeb reviews and edits your own draft: similarity-aware citation and paraphrasing review, academic language correction, and reference formatting to your required style. This is editing support, not ghostwriting, and we never help evade Turnitin or AI-detection systems. The work and its authorship remain yours.
- Your work, your authorship
- Similarity-aware citation review
- UAE university guideline-aware

Not sure which package?
Send your draft, word count, citation style and any similarity report you have. We confirm the ethical scope and price before you commit.
Editing your own work only — we never write your content or evade detection systems.
Studying at the British University in Dubai (BUiD)? BUiD’s Proofreading Policy 5.6 (approved November 2023) says students must use only proofreaders on the university’s authorised list, after mandatory screening by its Doctoral Training Centre, for work including master’s dissertations and doctoral theses. Labeeb is not on that list, so BUiD students should not use Labeeb, or any other unlisted service, for proofreading. Read BUiD Policy 5.6.

The line between editing and rewriting, shown
Before — the draft
“Due to the fact that the data that was collected from the interviews were analysed by the researcher using thematic analysis, three main themes was able to be identified from it.”
After — the Labeeb edit
“Thematic analysis of the interview data identified three main themes.”
What changed: wordiness, passive stacking and grammatical agreement — the method and the finding are untouched. What did not change: the argument, the evidence and the authorship — those stay yours. This passage was written by Labeeb for demonstration; client work is never shown.
What UAE universities say about similarity checks, AI and editing help
The published rules differ, but they share one thread: undeclared help, from a person or a tool, is the risk. Examples from the universities’ own documents:
- Ajman University: one draft may go through Turnitin on Moodle no later than 10 days before submission for the viva, and a Plagiarism Report Form records the total similarity and the highest match from any single source. A signed declaration states how far the work was done with others’ assistance.
- Canadian University Dubai: theses have a stricter similarity limit than coursework, applied after excluding the bibliography, quoted material and matches of eight words or fewer; students get one draft report. Tools that correct or translate text, Grammarly included, count as AI and need explicit permission and acknowledgement.
- Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University: a stricter Turnitin cut-off applies to dissertations, with quotes, the bibliography and matches of up to 5 words excluded; using online translators to get round plagiarism detection counts as plagiarism.
- Abu Dhabi University: written work is checked with Turnitin, and using AI software to support writing without a clear declaration is listed as plagiarism.
- American University of Sharjah: working with someone else, or with a generative AI tool, to develop, organise or revise a project without acknowledging that help is inappropriate collaboration; rules on tutors and editing vary by course.
Our part follows from this: we edit your own text, we tell you what was changed, and you declare the help where your programme asks for it. We never rewrite to lower a similarity score. For published thesis similarity figures, see our Turnitin similarity guide.

Free guides to read your report first
Most similarity worries are answered by reading the report correctly and checking your own university’s rule.
- Turnitin report interpreter: read your similarity and AI report the way your examiner will, line by line.
- AI-use policies for theses: what GCC universities allow, and what must be declared.
Your integrity-editing questions — answered clearly
Can you lower my Turnitin score?
Am I allowed to use a professional editor for my thesis?
Is this ghostwriting?
Do you edit AI-assisted writing?
Is my work kept confidential?
Which citation styles do you support?
How is pricing structured?
Where can I read more on similarity scores, paraphrasing, and thesis editing?
Is this the same as academic editing and proofreading?
The line we will not cross — and why that protects you
Integrity editing exists because most similarity flags are citation and paraphrasing faults, not dishonesty. We fix the faults. We do not hide them.
What we correct
Missing or malformed attribution, quotation that should be paraphrase, paraphrase that stays too close to the source, inconsistent referencing, and language that obscures whose idea is whose.
What we refuse
We do not rewrite text purely to defeat a similarity checker, spin content, remove citations to lower a score, or write original material for you to submit. Those are the services that get students disciplined.
Reading the report properly
A high percentage is not automatically misconduct and a low one is not automatically safe. We show you which matches are references, method boilerplate or genuine problems, so you can explain your own report.
You stay the author
Every change comes back as a tracked suggestion you accept or reject. Your argument, your data and your submission remain yours — which is the only version your university will accept.
Editing is by academic editors familiar with UAE and GCC university integrity rules, under NDA. Student work is confidential and never published or reused. Chat with Labeeb about your word count, referencing style and deadline to begin a scoped review.
