Documents to check before you apply

CV or résumé. Dubai Careers’ public FAQ tells applicants to have an electronic CV ready; TAMM lists a CV among the documents for its self-nomination service. Passport and residence status. UAE official guidance says expatriates preparing to work should ensure their passport is valid for at least six months and, except for GCC nationals, need a residence visa to live and work in the UAE. These are work and residency rules, not proof that every government application requires either record at submission.

Education qualification. TAMM lists a copy of the educational qualification for its self-nomination service. Other portals and vacancies may specify different evidence.

Attestation, where required. UAE official guidance says expatriates in certain jobs must present attested academic certificates as part of residency and employment procedures. MoFA says its attestation route is determined automatically by the document’s issuing authority and type; follow the current official route rather than assuming one fixed chain.

Qualification recognition, where required. MoHESR provides the current service for recognition of higher-education qualifications issued outside the UAE. Recognition is separate from MoFA attestation, and the vacancy, entity or regulator should determine whether it is needed.

Professional registration or licensing. Requirements vary by regulator. For Dubai healthcare professionals, DHA’s Get Registered service can include self-assessment, primary-source verification and an assessment depending on the professional category; a hiring facility activates the professional licence after registration.

Other requested records. Follow the vacancy, portal or regulator’s current instructions rather than assuming an experience certificate, photo or any other record is required.

National-service records. TAMM’s public self-nomination service lists a national-service letter for male students. Any other UAE-national documentation is entity- and vacancy-specific.

Use portal-specific requirements

Keep factual details accurate across the CV, portal profile and supporting records, and upload legible files in the format the portal specifies. This is preparation guidance, not a universal rule about how every UAE government entity verifies or shortlists candidates.

Do not alter an official record merely to make wording identical. If a name transliteration, job title or date legitimately differs, follow the portal’s instructions and seek guidance from the entity or regulator where needed. Where a portal has a structured field for a detail, fill it accurately.
