Healthcare CVs for UAE Government Hospitals & Authorities

A healthcare application needs to make your clinical scope and licensing position easy to verify. Start with the exact hospital vacancy and relevant regulator. A CV supports that process; it does not replace licensing, primary-source verification or the employer’s application form.

Separate employer requirements from professional licensing

The previous version of this guide treated DHA, DOH, MOHAP and SEHA as if they were interchangeable CV portals, and claimed automatic rejection rules that their public guidance does not establish. They have different roles. DHA’s Sheryan is a Dubai registration and licensing system. The Department of Health Abu Dhabi explains its professional-licence application route. MOHAP evaluates professionals within its remit. SEHA Careers is an employer recruitment route, not a licensing authority.

Check the vacancy for the employer’s location, role title, specialty and required current licence or eligibility status. Then check the relevant regulator’s current process. The UAE healthcare PQR and CV guide explains how to read the unified professional qualification requirements for your profession; it does not override an authority’s current decision.

Do not claim “licensed” if you have only applied, passed an assessment or received an eligibility letter. State the exact status shown in your record and the issuing authority. An employer may ask for additional evidence at a later stage.
CV structure

Put verifiable clinical information where a reviewer can find it

  1. Header: name, contact details, location and professional title. Use the same name consistently across the application and supporting records.
  2. Licensing and registration: authority, profession or specialty, status and relevant dates, phrased exactly as your record supports. Give a licence number only where suitable for the employer’s application channel; keep private identifiers off public copies.
  3. Clinical experience: employer, location, role and dates in reverse order. Describe setting, patient population, scope of practice and responsibilities accurately.
  4. Qualifications and training: degree, residency, fellowship, specialty board, continuing professional development and relevant certifications, with issuing bodies and dates where useful.
  5. Evidence of quality: clinical governance, audit, patient-safety, teaching or service-improvement work you personally contributed to. Use outcomes you can substantiate and respect patient confidentiality.
  6. Research and publications: include only material relevant to the vacancy, with accurate authorship and citations.

A specialist physician may need a longer record of training, procedures and publications than an early-career allied-health applicant. There is no universal two-page rule for all healthcare CVs. Follow the employer’s file type and length instructions when given.

Verification

Make dates and credentials consistent without promising automatic outcomes

Primary-source verification can be part of a regulator’s licensing pathway. Compare the education and employment dates in your CV with the records you supplied for verification. If a month or title differs, investigate and explain it truthfully. This reduces avoidable questions; it does not prove that every one-month discrepancy triggers an automatic disqualification.

Keep a private evidence file with the qualification certificate, professional registration, employment letters and regulator correspondence that support each claim. Do not attach identity documents to an unsolicited CV or publish verification reports. Use the employer or regulator’s official channel when a document is requested. Never edit a source document to force it to match the CV.

For file readability, use selectable text and familiar headings. Test the actual file before upload and follow the portal’s format instruction. The public regulator sources above do not support a claim that one-column PDF is the only format that passes every Sheryan or Abu Dhabi application.

Role-specific tailoring

Adapt the same career record to the vacancy

Doctor: lead with specialty, registration status, training pathway and the procedures or patient groups genuinely within your practice. A consultant vacancy may require evidence of leadership, teaching or research that a junior post does not.

Nurse: show registration status, setting, patient groups, relevant clinical competencies and shift or team responsibility. Do not list a procedure beyond your authorised scope.

Allied health: use the exact profession and specialty recognised by the relevant authority. Describe assessment, intervention and multidisciplinary work in terms that match the vacancy, without exposing patient details.

Administrative or non-clinical hospital role: clinical licensing language may be irrelevant. Follow the actual job description for operations, data, finance, HR or patient-service experience instead of adding a generic medical-CV block.

Application check

Before you submit

  • Open the current employer vacancy and confirm whether it is a clinical or non-clinical post.
  • Check the regulator’s requirements for the profession and location; use the vacancy’s wording for licence or eligibility status.
  • Confirm dates, titles and qualification names against your own evidence.
  • Keep patient information and private identifiers out of the CV.
  • Use the portal’s requested file format and answer its separate fields accurately.
  • Save the vacancy and submission confirmation so you can respond to later document requests.

Official starting points checked 14 October 2026: DHA Sheryan, DOH professional-licensing FAQ, MOHAP evaluation service and SEHA Careers. Check each live vacancy and authority page again before applying.
