Michael Page, Hays or Charterhouse UAE: How to Choose a Recruitment Route
There is no universal “best” recruitment agency for every candidate. Compare current vacancies, specialisms, location and application instructions, then use each agency’s official site.
What each agency publicly offers
Michael Page UAE lists specialisms including finance, engineering, technology, healthcare, energy, procurement and Emiratisation, alongside permanent, interim and project-based hiring. Hays UAE presents industry and profession areas, job search and career advice. Charterhouse UAE lists disciplines from accountancy and finance to legal, IT, marketing, HR and supply chain.
These public lists describe coverage, not the volume or quality of live jobs in your exact role. Browse current postings at each agency, read the consultant or team information where available and compare the vacancy with your actual experience. Avoid claiming that one agency guarantees a faster response or better salary without comparable evidence.
A practical agency-choice checklist
- Match the specialism: look for relevant active roles, not just a broad industry label.
- Check seniority and contract type: permanent, contract and executive searches may have different teams.
- Confirm geography: a UAE office does not mean every listed job is in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
- Use official registration: submit through the agency’s verified website or a legitimate consultant channel.
- Keep an application record: role, date, CV version and response help you follow up without duplicating applications.
Registering with an agency does not automatically create an interview. The agency may have no current client brief that fits your background. Employer career sites and direct applications can remain useful alongside agencies.
Prepare one accurate core CV, then tailor the evidence
Your core CV should keep employers, dates, qualifications and achievements consistent. For each vacancy, select the project or role examples that show the required work. A finance recruiter may need reporting scope and systems; a technology recruiter may need delivery context, tools and measurable contribution. Do not create contradictory versions or stuff a document with repeated keywords.
Weak: “Experienced manager with excellent leadership.” Better, if true: “Operations manager, UAE logistics group, 2021–2025: led a 12-person dispatch team and introduced a weekly exception review to reduce unresolved delivery cases.” The second statement makes the scope assessable, but any number or result must be supportable.

Do not pay for a promised placement
The UAE Government’s job-search guidance says job seekers should not pay recruitment-agency fees. Charterhouse’s own warning also says it will not ask candidates for a deposit to secure a job. Verify unexpected messages against the official agency site before sending personal documents or money.
