Company Letterhead in the UAE (2026): What It Must Show, Design Tips and Examples
Your letterhead appears on quotations, contracts, offer letters and official correspondence. In the UAE it also has to carry certain company details. This guide covers what the law asks for, what a professional letterhead includes, bilingual layout, and the files you need.
What UAE company correspondence must show
Article 13 of the UAE Commercial Companies Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 32 of 2021) states that all contracts, documents, correspondence and application forms issued by a company shall bear its:
- name;
- legal form (for example, LLC);
- registration number; and
- address.

If the share capital is shown, the paid-up capital must be stated, and a company in liquidation must say so. Because most correspondence is printed on letterhead, these details normally sit in its header or footer. Free zone companies follow their free zone’s regulations as well, so check your licensing authority’s rules.
What a professional UAE letterhead includes
- Logo and company name in English and, where used, Arabic.
- Legal details: legal form, licence or registration number, and registered address.
- Contact details: phone, email, website and P.O. Box if you use one.
- VAT details if you want them on correspondence: many registered businesses show their TRN; tax invoices have their own requirements, so confirm with your accountant.
- Space: a clean area for the date, reference number, recipient and body text.
- Footer: legal and contact details, kept small and consistent.
Design tips
- Follow your brand guidelines for logo size, colours and fonts. See what brand guidelines include.
- Keep the body area clear: heavy backgrounds and watermarks make letters hard to read and photocopy.
- Design for A4, the standard paper size in the UAE, with printer-safe margins.
- Bilingual layout: a common arrangement places English on the left and Arabic on the right of the header, with the logo centred or on one side. Use an Arabic typeface that pairs with your English one.
- Second-page version: a simpler continuation page with just the logo and page number.
Illustrative letterhead layouts
Three common layouts, described for a fictional company:
- Classic: logo top left, company name and contact details top right, legal details in a thin footer.
- Bilingual header: English name and details top left, Arabic name and details top right, logo centred.
- Minimal: small logo top left, all legal and contact details in the footer, maximum space for the letter.
The files you need
- Editable Word template with the header and footer locked, so staff only type in the body.
- Print-ready PDF for pre-printed stationery.
- Digital letterhead for letters sent as PDF by email.
- Matching items: email signature, business cards, envelopes and compliment slips. See our corporate templates for proposal, report and presentation templates in the same style.
