How to Write an Investor-Ready Pitch Deck in the UAE
A useful deck lets a specific investor understand the problem, evidence, business model and fundraising ask. Start with the programme or investor’s requirements, then build a story supported by numbers you can explain.
There is no single UAE investor-deck template
The required sections depend on the audience. For example, Hub71’s Access Programme asks applicants for a PDF deck covering the problem, solution, value proposition, business model, competition, market, traction, funds raised, founding team and Abu Dhabi plans. That is evidence of one programme’s requirements, not a rule that every UAE investor follows.
Before editing slides, record the recipient, investment stage, sector fit, application format and any requested questions or file limits. A grant application, accelerator screening deck and venture-capital fundraising deck may share information but answer different decisions.
Build the evidence chain slide by slide
- Problem and customer: identify whose problem you solve, how you know it exists and what they do now.
- Solution and differentiation: show the product or service in concrete terms, then compare relevant alternatives honestly.
- Market: define the reachable customer segment and explain the method behind any market-size estimate. A large regional headline is not a substitute for an addressable buyer group.
- Business model: show how revenue is earned, the unit of sale and important costs. Use actual or clearly labelled projected figures.
- Traction: distinguish paying customers, signed contracts, pilots, letters of intent and enquiries. Do not combine them into one “customer” count.
- Go-to-market: explain which channel has produced evidence so far and what must be tested next.
- Team and execution: show the capabilities needed for the plan and identify material gaps openly.
- Financial plan and ask: state the amount sought, intended use, runway or milestones, and assumptions that could change the outcome.
Use only sections that help the reader assess your business or are required by the recipient. The sequence can change when a particular proof point is the strongest opening.
Make regional claims specific and defensible
“The GCC is a large market” does not establish demand for your offer. Say which UAE or GCC customer segment you can reach, how procurement or distribution works, which competitors serve it and what evidence supports your assumptions. If an accelerator asks for a UAE or Abu Dhabi plan, explain the actual staffing, partnerships or customer activity involved rather than adding a location badge.
For regulated sectors, make claims about licences, approvals or access only after checking the applicable authority and your own status. Deck design cannot replace legal, financial or regulatory advice. Investors should be able to trace the source or calculation for important metrics.
Turn a vague traction claim into evidence
Weak: “Rapid traction across the UAE with strong enterprise interest.”
Stronger, if documented: “From April to September, 14 UAE firms completed a product trial; four signed paid annual contracts. The current sales cycle is measured from first meeting to signed contract, and the trial-to-paid result is based on this cohort.”
The figures above are illustrative, not Labeeb or client results. Replace them with verified data and define the period and denominator. If you have no paid customers yet, describe user interviews, pilots or letters of intent as such; do not relabel them as revenue.
A final deck check
- Can the reader state the product, buyer and business model after a quick review?
- Can every important number be traced to a source, calculation or labelled assumption?
- Does the ask connect to specific milestones rather than a vague growth promise?
- Does the file meet the recipient’s format, confidentiality and submission instructions?
Investor-deck questions
How many slides should the deck have?
Use enough slides to answer the recipient’s questions clearly, then remove repetition. Follow a specified limit when one exists; there is no universal UAE slide count.
Can a designer create the market and financial numbers?
A writer or designer can help structure, visualise and check the clarity of supplied material. The founder and appropriate advisers must own the underlying assumptions and verify the figures.
Does a polished deck guarantee a meeting or investment?
No. Fit, evidence, timing and investor decisions matter. A deck should make the opportunity easier to assess without overstating it.
Bring the evidence. We can shape the story.
If you have a target investor or programme, existing slides and your verified figures, Labeeb can discuss the narrative and design scope with you. We provide a customised quotation after understanding the brief; investment outcomes remain with the recipient.
