Architects can search project-owner and consultant career routes, then prepare a portfolio and CV that accurately show the stage, scale and responsibility of their own work. Check current vacancies and professional requirements before assuming a role is open.
Where do architects find Saudi project roles?
Start with the actual employer. NEOM’s careers page and Red Sea Global’s careers page describe their own hiring routes. Design consultancies, contractors and specialist studios may advertise separate roles related to those programmes. A job on a NEOM project is not automatically employment by NEOM; the employer in the vacancy determines the application, contract and eligibility terms.
Search by the work you actually do—architecture, landscape, urban design, BIM, design coordination or client-side design management—then inspect the current requirements. A project announcement is not a vacancy list or evidence of a fixed 2026 hiring volume.
Verify Saudi Council of Engineers registration
The Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) accreditation service covers professional categories and self-service applications. Check the exact vacancy, employer and SCE route for your situation; do not assume a degree, overseas licence or pending application equals current Saudi accreditation.
If your professional status is relevant to a CV, state the verified category and validity accurately. Leave out a membership number from a public portfolio if sharing it is unnecessary.
Show the design decisions you were responsible for
A useful project entry identifies the project type, location, design stage, your role, team context, deliverable and one decision or constraint you handled. For example: “Coordinated façade and accessibility comments for the developed-design package of a mixed-use project; tracked approved changes with the structural and MEP teams.” This is only an illustrative format, not a real candidate achievement. Replace it with your actual scope and obtain permission before displaying client drawings or confidential project details.
“Worked on a giga-project” is weaker than an accurate description of what you owned. Do not inflate project value, gross floor area, number of buildings or construction stage. If BIM software is relevant, explain what you personally modelled, coordinated or reviewed. A portfolio may show visual work, while the CV supplies role titles, dates, employers, qualifications and concise project evidence.
Different employers and roles may assess a portfolio, CV, application form, tests or interviews in different sequences. There is no evidence that every architecture portfolio must pass an ATS screen first or that one page layout guarantees shortlisting.
Apply through the named employer’s current channel
- Save the official vacancy URL, job ID, location and deadline.
- Check whether it is direct project employment, a consultant role or a contractor appointment.
- Confirm the required qualification, experience, software, language and SCE status stated in the advertisement.
- Tailor two or three permitted portfolio examples and the CV summary to that role without altering facts.
- Submit through the employer’s stated channel and retain the application record.
Compare any offer on its written salary, allowances, location, project duration, leave and contract terms. This guide does not assign a salary band or promise that one route is better paid than another; a current, comparable offer is needed for that conclusion.
