Nursing CV for UAE Hospitals: Licensing Status, Clinical Evidence and Examples
A useful nursing CV gives an employer a clear account of your licence status, clinical scope and recent practice. It should agree with your supporting documents without pretending that one CV format or keyword list guarantees an interview.
Separate licence eligibility from the CV
Healthcare professional licensing is decided by the relevant UAE authority under the Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), not by a CV writer or an applicant tracking system. The Department of Health Abu Dhabi’s PQR page provides the common framework. Check the current authority guidance and the target vacancy before describing your status.
Your CV can state a current licence, eligibility or application stage accurately. It cannot establish eligibility on its own. Do not write “DHA licensed”, “DOH licensed” or “DataFlow verified” unless the exact claim matches your record. If your application is pending, say so plainly with the authority and stage you can document; omit private reference numbers from a publicly shared CV unless the employer specifically requests them through a secure channel.
What a UAE nursing CV should make easy to verify
- Professional identity: your nursing title, specialty, location and a reliable contact method. Use the professional title supported by your qualifications and applicable authority record.
- Licence and verification status: issuing authority, current status and relevant expiry date where appropriate. Keep PSV and assessment claims separate.
- Clinical experience: employer, department, dates, patient group and responsibilities. Distinguish independent work from supervised training.
- Relevant competencies: show the clinical work you actually perform and are authorised to perform. Match vacancy terminology where truthful, without copying an entire job advert.
- Education and training: nursing degree or diploma, institution, graduation date and current certifications. Include issuer and validity for certifications the role requires.
Requirements vary by role. An ICU vacancy and an outpatient-clinic vacancy may assess different evidence. Read the vacancy and official authority guidance rather than following a universal rule about which credential must appear first.
Turn a broad duty into evidence a recruiter can assess
Too broad: “Responsible for patient care in a busy hospital.”
More useful, if supported by your records: “Registered nurse, adult medical ward, 2022–2025. Completed admission assessments, medication administration and discharge education within the ward’s documented protocols; escalated deterioration to the responsible clinician.”
Choose the unit, dates and scope that are true for you. Do not add case volumes, equipment, licences or outcomes you cannot support. Remove patient names and identifiable case details. Clinical examples should demonstrate judgment and responsibility without disclosing confidential information.
Before sending the CV
- Compare job titles and dates with experience letters, licences and other evidence.
- Check whether the target role is registered nurse, assistant nurse, specialty nurse or another title; the PQR nursing section distinguishes these categories.
- Check the employer’s own file and application requirements. There is no evidence that every UAE hospital uses the same automatic screening rules.
- Keep the file readable with clear headings and selectable text, then proofread it on a phone as well as a computer.
- Apply through the employer’s official careers page and provide additional identity or credential documents only through a trusted recruitment process.
