UAE Corporate Bank Account Readiness Checker (2026)
Check your company’s structure and document file against what UAE banks publish in their own Key Facts Statements and account pages, and against the UAE beneficial-owner rules. Every item is linked to its source. Banks decide every application themselves: this helps you prepare a consistent, evidenced file, and does not predict approval.

What banks publish, and what they don’t
UAE banks publish a Key Facts Statement (KFS) for each account. It states who can open the account and on what terms. Some banks also list application documents on their website. What banks do not publish is how their compliance teams judge a file. So this page separates three things:
- Stated by a bank: a requirement written in that bank’s own KFS or account page, linked.
- Legal requirement: the beneficial-owner rules in Cabinet Decision No. (109) of 2023, linked.
- Labeeb guidance: documents that help you explain your business. They are marked as guidance because no bank we checked lists them.
We publish no approval rates or refusal statistics, because no bank publishes them and we will not guess.

Your answers stay in your browser. The criteria come from the banks’ own documents on the date above; banks update their KFS documents, so check the current version before you apply.

UAE beneficial-owner rules in brief
Cabinet Decision No. (109) of 2023 on Regulating the Beneficial Owner Procedures (also on the CBUAE Rulebook) replaced Cabinet Decision No. (58) of 2020. It says:
- Who it covers: licensed or registered legal persons in the UAE, including commercial free zones. Financial free zones, wholly government-owned companies and government partners are exempt (Article 3).
- Who is a beneficial owner: a natural person who owns or controls 25% or more of the capital or voting rights, directly or through a chain, or controls the company by other means such as appointing or removing most directors. If no one qualifies, the senior manager is treated as the beneficial owner (Article 5).
- The register: the company keeps a beneficial-owner register and a register of partners or shareholders, and updates them within 15 days of any change (Articles 8 and 10).
- Filing: both registers go to the registrar within 60 days of licensing, and extra data the registrar asks for is due within 14 days (Article 11).
If your company is owned through another company, the register still has to reach the individuals at the top. Build the ownership chart before you open the bank application.
Why the numbers you declare matter
Mashreq’s NEO BIZ KFS says the cash deposit limit “is customized to every account based on your declaration of your business transactional volumes”, and that it permits cash-based transactions of up to 49% of declared annual turnover. So the turnover and cash share you write on the application become operating limits. Declare figures you can explain from contracts, quotations or a plan, and keep them consistent across the application, your licence activity and any company profile you submit.
If you have no document that explains your business yet, see business plan writing or company profile writing, or Chat with Labeeb.
Frequently asked questions
Do UAE banks require a business plan to open a corporate account?
None of the bank documents we checked (Mashreq NEO BIZ KFS, RAKBANK Business Current Account KFS and application FAQ, Emirates NBD sole-proprietor KFS, Wio onboarding page) lists a business plan. Banks do ask what the business does and what volumes to expect, and Mashreq sets each account’s cash deposit limit from the volumes you declare. A short plan is one way to show where those numbers come from.
Can a company owned by another company open a Mashreq NEO BIZ account?
Not under the published criteria. Mashreq’s NEO BIZ Key Facts Statement (version September 2026) says the business should be owned 100% by individuals and that no layered structures are allowed. Other banks may accept corporate shareholders, so ask the bank before you apply.
Who counts as a beneficial owner in the UAE?
Under Cabinet Decision No. (109) of 2023, a beneficial owner is a natural person who owns or controls 25% or more of the capital or voting rights, directly or through a chain of ownership, or who controls the company by other means such as appointing or removing most of the directors. If nobody meets that test, the senior manager is treated as the beneficial owner. The decision covers mainland and commercial free-zone companies, not financial free zones.
How much cash can my business deposit?
It depends on the bank and on what you declare. Mashreq’s NEO BIZ KFS limits cash-based transactions to 49% of declared annual turnover and sets the cash deposit limit for each account from your declared transaction volumes. Other banks set their own limits.
Does this checker tell me whether my account will be approved?
No. It compares your answers with what banks and the law publish and lists the documents to prepare. Every bank makes its own decision and can decline an application or ask for more information.
