Business Name Generator and UAE Trade Name Checker
Generate company name ideas from a keyword, then check any name against common UAE trade name rules before you apply. Free, instant, nothing is stored.
A quick screen only. Your licensing authority (DET, ADDED, a free zone, etc.) decides; rules differ between authorities and change over time. Always run the authority’s own name search before you apply.
What the checker looks for, and where the rules come from
Article 53 of the UAE Commercial Transactions Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 50 of 2022) says a trade name must truly reflect the type of business and must not be misleading or prejudicial to public order or morals. Licensing authorities add their own naming rules. The DMCC Company Name Reservation Rules and Guidelines, published on the UAE government portal, include these examples:
- “UAE”, “Emirates”, city and district names and UAE airport codes are restricted; names of continents, countries and cities are not acceptable, but nationalities such as “European” can be used.
- The name cannot start with “International”, “Middle East”, “Global” and similar terms.
- No names of God or his divine attributes, in Arabic or English.
- No obscene, indecent or offensive words, even if it is a person’s name.
- No names similar to government organisations or their abbreviations, global political organisations or religious sects.
- No full or partial use of active local or global brands or government projects.
- Some words need specific approval; for example, “Capital” requires Central Bank approval.
Rules differ by authority (for example DET in Dubai, ADDED in Abu Dhabi, and each free zone), so treat this as a first screen.

Common questions
Can I use “Dubai” or “UAE” in my company name?
Usually not. The DMCC rules, for example, restrict “UAE”, “Emirates” and city names. Check your own licensing authority’s rules.
Can my company name start with “Global” or “International”?
Under the DMCC rules, no. Other authorities may have similar restrictions.
Does my trade name need an Arabic version?
UAE trade names are registered with an Arabic name; the DMCC rules note that company names are translated phonetically, not literally.
Can Labeeb design a logo for my new company name?
Yes. Labeeb designs bilingual logos and brand identities for UAE and GCC companies. We agree the scope and price with you before any work starts.
